Home work with robotics! help!?
o my gosh whoever awnsers the most gets 10 points! PLZ HELP!
Ok first, i need the definition of Nanotechnology
Secant, what is an infrared Light?
third: Who is and why is he important? John McCarthy
Fourth: What is the Artificial Intellignce agency and where is it located?
Fifth: who was Issac Asimov and what were his "three laws of robotics?"
Sixth: Who is geORGE Lucas and why is he important?
What are two important indtitutes in the study of robots?
What have Honda And SONY done to help in the development of robots?
What does "First Lego League International" have to do with robotics?
An explanation on how Robots apply to space, oceans, land, math, science, and technology.
1. Nanotechnology is a diverse multidisciplanery field encompassing the control and manipulation of matter on a scale smaller than one micrometre.
2. Infrared light - literally meaning below-red light is a radition of a wavelength longer than visible light but shorter than radio waves. IR is not visible in the human visual spectrum. An example of IR is usually found in the remote you use for your TV. The instructions are beamed from your remote to your TV in the infrared beam which you cannot see, but as you might notice you need to point the remote at your TV for it to work.
3. John McCarthy is a computer scientist from Boston. He coined the term Artificial Intelligence in 1955. For more on McCarthy visit his site at http://www-formal.stanford.edu/jmc/
4.
5. Asimov wrote or edited more than five hundred books. Asimov is widely considered a master of the science-fiction genre and, along with Robert A. Heinlein and Arthur C. Clarke, was considered one of the "Big Three" science-fiction writers during his lifetime. In his short story "Runaround" he set forth the three laws of robotics. They are:
1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction,
allow a human being to come to harm.
2. robot must obey orders given it by human beings except
where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such
protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
6. George Lucas was the creator of the Star Wars saga. His work mainstreamed the use of robots he called droids in the Star Wars films. His company Lucasfilms and its tech divisions Skywalker Sight and Sound and Industrial Light and Magic pioneered and continues to develop high end technologies for the movie industry.
7. Not sure what you are asking...
8. Honda has developed and continues to refine humanoid robots. Honda's robot called ASIMO can be seen on their site at href=http://world.honda.com/ASIMO/. Sony has developed a companion robot dog called AIBO which is trainable and has limited learning capabilities. Their site is http://www.sony.net/Products/aibo/.
9. The FIRST Lego League (also known by its acronym FLL) is a competition for elementary and middle school students (ages 9-14, 9-16 in Europe), arranged by the FIRST organization. Each year the contest focuses on a different topic related to the sciences. Each challenge within the competition then revolves around that theme.
