My Hamster is Knawing on Twigs + Toy Tips?
Stripped clean Twigs (y'know, pale yellow when you take the bark off, all smooth) but im worried she might be mistaking it for food and might get splinters :/
If it is safe, how can i make them more fun for her???
he dosnt really have that many toys apart from a piece of lego, and her tunnel. Oh and 2 Loo roles and a half eaten box.
its something they naturally do even in the wild they use wood to knaw on to grind down there teeth to stop them from overgrowing if they grow to long they can cause them ALOT of pain. always provide her with wooden toys such as sticks or wooden knawing blocks and mineral stones are good two and they provide them with nutrients and protein to help them live a healthy and active life. if there teeth overgrow and become to painful they can stop eating and drinking as it is too painful if you are still worried even after she has had the knaws to help hertake her to the vets were they can cut them down for her. good luck try the wheely mineral blocks and fruit and veg Chews for Small Animals by Pets at Home work wonders it keeps there teeth down and pain free and provides them with hours of fun and activity x
