Why won't my parents let me buy this Lego set?
I understand the point that it is expensive, it is about 350 dollars to 425. It is the Lego technic motorized bulldozer. I have the money myself to buy it. I have been saving up for 2 years to get it but they won't let me spend my own money. If I can't spend my own money, then why am I even getting money?
BTW, I am 12 years old. I never buy video games. I usually buy things for around 10 dollars and I understand that a sudden leap to 400 dollars is strange. But I really want it.
Can I get REASONS that can convince my parents to let me buy it?
I get that it is expensive, but I get straight A's my entre life and I never get in trouble. I don't really like video games and I don't buy anything really.
Do you have more lego technic sets?
I am asking because you could build it from combining other sets, that's how I build the tow truck which cost around $400.00 too.
What I did is that I downloaded the building manuals from lego.com and checked the pieces I already have and just ordered the pieces I was missing or special parts from the Pick A Brick page from lego.com or from the lost/ replacement pieces page also on lego.com, I didn't even spend more than $50.00.
I know that set looks amazing but there is another sets like the excavator 8043 which is just awesome (I have it) and it comes with power functions like motors, infrared receivers, battery box and 2 infrared remotes and the whole sets cost just $200.00.
You have options, I also understand your parents because spending 400.00 in just one set is a lot of money. But hey, why don't try what I am telling you? for sure you will have a lot of fun counting pieces, building and maybe even your dad can help you!!!
